Summary:
the present invention provides a thermal transfer image recording composite sheet, which has a high recording sensitivity for various thermal transfer printers; whose image recording surface, upon imagewise heating with a thermal head, remains substantially not roughened or wrinkled, and can thus record images with high color density, clarity and uniformity, and exhibits a high resistance to denting due to nipping pressure applied to the image recording surface by sheet-conveying nip rolls of the printers; and of which a image recording sheet section can be released from a release sheet section and adhered to a desired article. In an evaluation, the image recording composite sheet of the present invention was employed in a commercially available thermal transfer video printer (M1, trade name, manufactured by Sony Corp.) to check for any denting. In the said evaluation, it was observed that the nipping pressure of the sheet-conveying nip rolls, as measured by using Fujifilm Prescale®, was 200 kg/cm2.
