Heat Sealing
Are you certain your jaws/rollers are contacting uniformly across the heat sealing surface?
When heat sealing platens and rollers do not contact with uniform pressure, expensive packaging defects, such as leakage, wrinkles, channels and other flaws can result.
With Fujifilm Prescale® (formerly known as Fuji Prescale®) you can quickly and accurately discern the exact magnitude and distribution of pressure between your platen faces. Then you can review the resultant high resolution pressure image to precisely align your heat sealing equipment and horizontal form fill seal machines. Unique and affordable, Prescale® is a standalone product. No instrumentation is required.
Simply place Fujifilm Prescale between your two heat seal surfaces and apply force. Instantaneously microcapsules on the film’s surface rupture and change color directly proportional to the amount of pressure applied. A permanent high resolution “topographical” image of pressure variation across the contact area is produced.
Fujifilm Prescale® measures pressures from 7 to 43,000 PSI (0.5 to 3,000 kg/cm²). The film is thin (4 to 8 mils) and flexible, enabling it to conform to curved as well as straight surfaces. This low cost, one-time use film may also be archived to serve as a control for packaging machinery.
Thousands of clients around the world design, test, and maintain their heat seal equipment with our pressure indicating films.
